Dr. Melina Efthimiadis (“Dr.E”) grew up in Durham, North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology degree from North Carolina State University (Summa Cum Laude) in 2003. She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated as valedictorian in 2007. She started her veterinary career at Roxboro Animal Hospital and then went on to manage and own a practice in Mebane, NC for 13 years. Dr. E is excited to return to Roxboro Animal Hospital to serve the animals and the people that love them in Roxboro.

Dr. E has special interests in small animal internal medicine, ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology and dermatology. She is Fear Free Certified and uses low stress handling techniques for dogs and cats. She is also a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, AVMA and NCVMA.

In her free time, Dr. E enjoys the sport of Endurance Riding (50+ mile horse rides) with her husband, Joe. They share their farm with four dogs, seven cats, seven horses and several cattle!
